Is Green Energy a Scam?

In efforts to save money and to protect our planet, Green DIY energy is becoming more popular
that ever. Persons that may have not been interested in green products a few years ago are
becoming much more interested in such activities. The investment in the equipment to produce the
power is paid off in a few years and power is then free.

Commonly home systems are used to store energy in a bank of batteries that is in tern used to
power the home. By using the batteries, a more stable energy source is developed. This helps to
prevent the spikes that would occur if connected directly to the power generation source.
Expensive electronic equipment is protected from those spikes.
In areas where there is unobstructed sunshine for many days of the year, solar energy can be the
answer. Copper solar panels that are coated in red copper oxide produce electrical charges that
are added together to produce the power you need for your home.
In hilly areas that have prevailing winds, wind turbines power generators that are used to charge
the battery bank. The turbines work best when elevated approximately 100 feet in the air in order
to avoid any interference from buildings or trees.
If public power is an option as an alternative source of power, you may simply want to use the DIY
power for supplements. This can prevent the need for installing a back up generator in many
cases. In those periods that, for one reason or another, you are unable to generate your own
power, you can rely on the power from the power company. If you are producing more power than
you use, in many cases, the excess power can be sold to the power company through use of a
reverse power meter. This can offset the days that you need to use the company's power.
Persons that cannot or are not willing to connect to the gird will need to prepare for those days
when the power system does not produce sufficient electricity for the home. A back up generator
that is fueled with fossil fuel is often a good alternative. This can prevent draining of the batteries
to the level that damage is caused to them. Often the generators are powered using clean burning
propane to protect the planet.
If you are producing your own power, you will soon find the necessity of low energy appliances for
the home. The lower you are able to keep your load, the less you will need to install more
equipment to produce power for your home.
Do your part to save the planet and save money with green DIY energy.
